1. Who we are
FloorYield is a retail intelligence initiative and the operator of flooryield.com. For the personal information described in this policy, FloorYield acts as the data controller.
Contact us at pilot@flooryield.com.
This public website is an illustrative demonstration. The retailer, store, transactions and movement data shown in the demo are simulated.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Enquiry information, such as your name, work email address, organisation and anything you include when contacting us.
- Technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, request time, pages requested and security logs generated when the site is delivered.
- Business correspondence created if we discuss a demonstration, pilot or commercial relationship.
We do not use this website to identify people from camera footage. The demonstration does not use facial recognition, biometric identification or real customer transaction data.
If FloorYield is used in a live retail pilot, the parties will separately document their data protection roles, instructions, security measures and required notices before processing begins.
3. How and why we use information
| Purpose | Typical information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to enquiries and arrange demonstrations | Contact and correspondence data | Legitimate interests and steps requested before entering a contract |
| Operate, secure and troubleshoot the website | Technical and security data | Legitimate interests in providing a secure, reliable service |
| Manage a pilot or commercial relationship | Business contact and project data | Contract, steps before contract and legitimate interests |
| Meet legal and regulatory obligations | Relevant records | Legal obligation |
We do not use website visitor information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution requirements. Routine enquiries are generally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact unless a continuing relationship or legal requirement justifies longer retention. Technical logs are retained in line with operational security needs and provider retention schedules.
6. Your UK data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to:
- ask for access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent where consent is the basis used.
Some rights are qualified and may not apply in every situation. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Contact, complaints and changes
Send privacy questions or rights requests to pilot@flooryield.com.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available on this page with a revised date.
